                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN,
                   RIVERFRONT PARKWAY, RIVERSIDE DRIVE, AND
                   AMNICOLA HIGHWAY AREAS MORE PARTICULARLY
                   DESCRIBED HEREIN ON SUNDAY, MAY 5, 1991 FOR
                   THE PRESENTATION OF THE "MS BIKE-A-THON"
                   SPONSORED BY THE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY
                   UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the eastbound and westbound parking/right
       turn lanes of 6th Street between Cameron Circle and Chestnut
       Street; the temporary closing of the southbound and northbound
       parking lanes of Chestnut Street between 6th Street and M. L. 
King
       Boulevard; the temporary closing of the northbound and southbound 

       parking lanes of Carter Street between M. L. King Boulevard and
       Main Street; the temporary closing of the eastbound and westbound 

       parking lanes of Main Street between Carter Street and Riverside
       Drive; the temporary closing of the westbound, northbound and
       eastbound traffic lanes closest to the north, east and south curb 

       of Riverfront Parkway-Riverside Drive-Amnicola Highway between
       Main Street and South Creek Road (west leg); the temporary 
closing
       of the westbound, southbound, and eastbound traffic lane closest
       to the north, west, and south curb of Amnicola Highway-Riverside
       Drive-Riverfront Parkway between South Creek Road (east leg) and
       Main Street; and the temporary closing of South Creek Road 
between
       Amnicola Highway and Amnicola Highway on Sunday, May 5, 1991 from 

       6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the presentation of the "MS
       Bike-A-Thon" under the sponsorship of the Multiple Sclerosis
       Society provided that the sponsor shall set out barricades,
       traffic cones, road closed and detour signs and additional 
warning
       signs along the route in accordance with the traffic control plan 

       attached hereto, and shall provide, at all times, an access lane
       for fire and other emergency vehicles.
